72 Boats

The Billfish Classic represented the 1st national event to be held in Biloxi since Katrina and it did it in style.  Joel Broussard on the “C-YA” took first place in the Blue Marlin Division with a 722.8 pounder.  David Finkelstein on the boat “Team Galati” took second place with a 666.2 lb. Blue and David Perry on the boat “Uptoit” took 3rd with a 541.8 lb. Blue.  Three additional Blue Marlin weighed included, Jose Castillo’s 494 lb. Blue on the “Mattiduke,” Kevin Bouza’s 373 lb. Blue on the “Krunch Time” and Ken Lovelace’s 361.6 lb. Blue on the “Ole Miss.”  295 anglers from 14 different states participated in the Classic.  21 billfish were raised with 15 being tagged.  969.2 lbs. of dolphin, 1,246 lbs. of tuna, and 623.8 lbs. of wahoo were weighed at the scales.
