Less than 10 minutes remain for the hundreds of anglers fishing the 2011 Classic to hook the big monster blue. Lines must officially be out of the water by 6 p.m.
Tournament Control has received word that two boats are running back in with qualifying blues aboard. Mary P, a beautiful Trinity yacht-fish, is also one of dozens more that have hefty game fish on ice.
The weigh scales at the Isle Casino and Hotel, next to the Point Cadet Marina, will be bustling all night long as boat after boat backs up to the dock to unload their catch.
“We’re going to have tons of game fish coming in, along with the known blue marlin,” says Tournament Director Bobby Carter. “We’ve got great food, live entertainment and plenty of excitement, so come on down and enjoy the show. We’ll be weighing fish until after midnight.”
The 60 boats competing in the 15th annual MGCBC are angling for more than $1 million in prize money. It’s going to be a fun and interesting night ahead.
