Predictions of a hot bite are turning out to be true. Already this morning, two boats have called in reports of boated blue marlin. Miss Remy has a blue estimated at 107 inches aboard, while Testing the Waters is heading to the scales with another estimated at 117-plus inches. The scales open at 4 p.m. this afternoon at the Isle Resort and Casino headquarters, next to the Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi. Eligible blue marlin must measure at least 100 inches from the lower jaw to the fork of the tail. If the two boated fish indeed match early estimations, they will easily qualify.
Four other blues and one white marlin have also been released this morning. The field of 60 boats is competing for more than $1 million in prize money.
It promises to be a very busy afternoon at the scales, which will remain open until 11 p.m tonight. Fishing continues until 6 p.m. Saturday.
